For this journal entry I am going to write about my trip to Florida last spring break. So last year was my first year here at Maranatha. I did not really know anybody coming into this school and I was really nervous. Towards the middle of the year I started to meet some new people and I am friends with most of them now. But because i was new to this school and because of how far i came from the beginning of the year to spring break my family wanted to give my brother and i a little gift in a way. So they surprised us with a trip to Clearwater Florida. 2 years before this we had gone to the same place and the same hotel which was also a super nice resort around easter time. So the first time we went we spent Easter there which was probably the best Easter I had ever had, so far. But because of how hard my brother and I had worked to get good grades at our new schools we got to go to Florida. We left for the airport at 6 am on a thursday. We got to skip two days of school to get on our flight as well. When we got to the airport we got our bags checked, went through security, all of the boring stuff, and then we grabbed a coffee and went to our gate. We then got on our flight and took a 3 and a half hour flight to florida. When we got there it was about 1 o’clock in the afternoon. We couldn't check into our hotel until 4 so we just went and ate at our favorite restaurant called clear sky cafe that we remembered from the previous year we were there. We went and walked on the beach after we were done eating and then we grabbed all of our bags and got into our hotel room. The hotel rooms were super nice as well. We got the same one from the previous year we were there and it overlooked the pool and behind the pool was the white sandy beach and the ocean. We then unpacked our stuff and my brother and I went swimming. We swam for about 2 hours and then got hungry again so we got dressed and my family and i walked in the little downtown that was right next to our hotel and also went to the pier. We had also not known that one of my best friends was gonna be down there at the same time so they came up to our resort as a surprise and they stayed 3 days in the same hotel as we were and we spent their last three days with them at the resort and on the beach. On one of the days they were staying there we went parasailing. It was my second time parasailing and the first time so I went with my best friend and my mom, and my brother went with his friend and his friend's mom.
